Glue, Images, Instructions
SIMPLE EARRING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. You can use the images supplied or print your own images onto Heavyweight Matte Photo Paper or similar using a colour laser or inkjet printer. 2. Thinly spread the glue on the images on your printout (one at a time) and carefully place your glass tile (wrong side down) on top of the image. Slide the glass tile around in a circular motion over the image to spread the glue and remove any bubbles, then press firmly to bond with the glaze. Do not attempt to move the glass once it has started bonding. 3. Leave for a few hours to dry, then cut image to shape of glass, using scissors. 4. Gently sand any rough edges. With a sharp knife carefully scrape off any excess glue from around the edges of the glass tile. 5. Fishhook Earrings: First create a protective resin dome - apply the glue carefully to the back of your image. Start from the inside and gently spread outward, being careful not to tip the glass tile (tip: use blutack to secure your image to the table) to create a doming effect. Note that the glue works by capillary action – in other words – it will only run down the side of your glass tile if you allow it to run in that direction – it should stay only on the face you are working on. Using pliers assemble the components supplied – attach a jumpring to the bail, then attach the other jumpring to the first, and then lastly attach the fishhook to the second jumpring. After waiting for the glue to dry (allow 12-72 hours), using a couple of drops of the glue, glue the bail (with attachments) to the back of your square tile. Ensure that the front of your earring and the fishhook are facing opposite directions. Leave to set for a few hours before wearing. 6. Stud Earrings: Create a protective resin dome (as above) and when dry use a couple of drops of Diamond Glaze to glue the stud post to the back of the image. Attach butterflies. 7. Tray Earrings: Simply place a couple of drops of the glue in the tray and gently press the glass tile inside (no need to create a protective dome). These can be worn straight away!
